I really enjoy the unique hiking and backpacking opportunities that Louisiana has to offer. I have collected information on most of the trails in Louisiana and put them together, so others can enjoy them as well.
 
I wanted a space where I could share all that I have experienced in the outdoors. Most of this experience has been in Louisiana, and while our state isn't well known for hiking, I want to help give people some ideas on how they can get on the trail! The simple act of placing one foot in front of the other, and traveling on your own power miles after mile, has become very much a part of my well-being. I believe that hiking/backpacking has been beneficial to my mind, body, and spirit. Anyone can experience this with no special skills required! 
 
When I began hiking a few years ago, I had a hard time finding resources for information about trails in our state. I stumbled around on Forestry Service websites, Alltrails, and Every-trail, just looking for bits of information about where I could go hike. It wasn't until I discovered the book "50 Hikes in Louisiana", that I was able to find some of the really great hiking experiences that Louisiana offers. 
 
I'm very excited about having a way to share all of the great trails we have in our state, along with some of my personal experience with backpacking. My goal is that this will be a valuable resource for anyone looking to get outside and discover the natural beauty and challenging trails right here in our own backyard!
